David E. Kroessler, MD
Dr David Kroessler has been in practice since 1986 and the founder of Angell Street Psychiatry, Ltd. in 1992. He now serves as the Medical Director and CEO. He is originally from NY and was brought to RI by Brown University School of Medicine for Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry. He has served as Chief of Psychiatry at both Kent County Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center. Dr Kroessler teaches for Bryant University Physician Assistant program and frequently has students with him. He is Assistant Clinical Professor for Boston University School of Medicine. He has been voted by his peers as one of the "Top Docs" in the State of Rhode Island, as reported in R.I. Monthly Magazine, numerous times.
Maurizio Zambenedetti, MD
Dr. Maurizio Zambenedetti, MD completed his psychiatric residency at the Medical School of Cornell University and his child psychiatry fellowship at St. Luke's Hospital (Columbia University) in NYC . He was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical School of Cornell University, and completed a master degree in “Clinical Epidemiology and Service Research”. For several years he was the Unit Chief of the Children Inpatient Unit at New York Hospital, and later on the Director of the ADHD service.
With the same academic title he worked at the “Child Study Center” at the Medical School of New York University, where he was involved in a number of studies on ADHD. During these years he was a consultant of different Committees of Special Education and worked with children with PTSD placed in foster care. He joined “Angell Street Psychiatry” in Providence (RI) in 2016

Amy Ahlberg, MA
Amy Johanna Ahlberg works with individuals presenting with a range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, and loss.  In addition, Amy is trained in evidence-based interventions for BFRBs (hair pulling and skin picking disorders) with the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors.  She is also certified in Research Ethics through CITI (University of Miami).  Amy's background in psychology and behavioral research informs her approach to clinical practice.  An existentialist, she pairs cognitive behavioral techniques with a strengths based approach to treatment.  Amy creates a safe space unique to each client, rich with empathy, genuineness, unconditional positive regard...and occasional irreverence,
Cathy Kelly, MSN, RN, MA, CAGS, LMHC
Cathy Kelly, MSN, RN, MA, CAGS, LMHC is trained in holistic counseling with a CAGS in Transpersonal Psychology. Graduated from Georgetown University (nursing), University of Texas @ El Paso (UTEP) (master’s in nursing) & Salve Regina University (holistic counseling).  She is also a full time Associate Professor in psychiatric nursing. 
 
Steven J. Hershey, Ph.D.
Steven J. Hershey is a psychologist in private practice and works for a school system. He was a staff psychologist and supervisor at several New York State Psychiatric Centers.
He has served on several hospital committees, and presently serves on the RIPA ethics and colleague assistance committees. His interests include differential diagnosis, children, families, psychotherapy including cognitive hypnosis and professional practice.
Ronald Paolino, Ph.D.
In addition to being a licensed clinical psychologist and pharmacist, Dr. Paolino holds Master’s and PhD degrees in pharmacology and is a collaborative pharmacy practitioner.
He attended URI and Purdue University with a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship in psychopharmacology at Yale University. He did his clinical psychology internship at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. He has held professorships at the University of Connecticut, Purdue University, University of Rhode Island and Brown University School of Medicine. He served as clinical psychologist and clinica lpharmacy specialist at the VA Medical Center for 36 years.
Based on his training and experience his approach to psychotherapy is eclectic with an emphasis on existential analytic principles.
Judith Ashworth, PCNS
Judy has been helping people overcome depression and anxiety for over 25 years.
 
Michael Scarpaci, ACSW, LICSW
Michael is a clinical social worker who has been providing counseling and psychotherapy services since 1985.
Michael attended Tufts University and the Graduate School of Social Work at Boston College. He has worked for community mental health centers, Landmark Hospital, and Rhode Island Hospital. Michael jointed A.S.P. in 2002. Michael uses an eclectic approach in his work. "I've told my clients I use the Jesse James approach: I steal ideas from whomever and wherever I can to help my clients."
Michael has experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, relationship problems for individuals and couples, trauma/grief counseling and parenting challenges.
Robin Cahil, LICSW
 
 
Edwin Elhard, LICSW
 Edwin Elhard, LICSW, LMFT, LAC, served with the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Air Mobile Unit in Viet Nam. Ed received his MSW from Walla Walla College, and retired as a counselor and Team Leader of the Vet Center in Billings, Montana. Edwin has recently relocated to Rhode Island and is especially interested in working with PTSD-affected warriors such as combat veterans, police, firefighters, safety workers and their families.
Denise Coelho, LMHC
Undergrad at Barrington College. Advanced graduate degree from Rhode Island College. Certified Level 1 in Internal Family Systems 2012. Work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety as well as financial problems and questions regarding social security. Work well with single parents as well as parenting issues. LMHC since 1998. I also focus on individuals who need assistance in nutrition and exercise.
